Take good care of your cards:
The first tip we can give you in business card etiquette is to take good care of your business cards. Don’t just leave them in the open, or stuff them haphazardly in your wallet or purse. Color business cards are portals of communications for you and your potential contacts. They must always look the best that they can be, without scratches, smudges or folds. If you give a damaged business card to a potential contact, that first impression might damage your overall image to him or her. So it is always a good practice to take care and preserve the quality of your business cards.

As a side note, if you are having trouble in maintaining the good quality of your business cards, you may want to try printing plastic business cards. These are damage resistant in a lot of areas, so they won’t break, tear or fade too easily. Ask you online business card printing service if they can print plastic business cards for you.

Always have a few with you:
The next tip is about the distribution of your business cards. It is always a good idea to have a few copies of your business cards with you at all times. You never know when opportunity may strike, and you suddenly meet a business contact, that will change and enrich your business. So always be prepared to give them out to anyone by carrying them with you at all times.

Next, when giving your business card away, you really have to know the proper business card giving etiquette for the country you are in. Some countries have a certain way of giving business cards respectfully. Anything less than that and your image for that particular business contact may suffer. In countries like Japan for example, a business card must be given with both hands palms up, along with a small bow depending on your “seniority”. Just research on the various business card customs in the country you are in so that you know the proper business card etiquette.

Ask for business cards in return
Regardless of customs though, it is always polite to ask for a business card in return. It is just common sense to also ask for the contact information of the person you have given to your business card. This conveys the subtle message to your receiver that you also care for the person, and you are not just after him or her as a contact. Help answer the question about Business Cards

How much does it cost to print your own business cards?
Okay, I want to know how much it would cost me to manually print 1000 business cards for my small business that I just started. Like how much total would it cost for the business card paper and ink. I am wondering if it would be cheaper to get them offline. Thanks.

Outstanding…..having just became important enough in life to have business cards I now know that my cards are crap. Never realized I need a pop-up book and a guarantee. I just thought they were meant to impress women and to occasionally write numbers or info that I actually need on the back of. Nothing better than seeing a guy writing his number for a girl at a bar on the back of your card (I manage a bar). Next time they will be pop-ups guaranteeing how drunk we can get you! LMFAO!

What is that??? A card??? I think is a children´s storybook. Does it have some kind of music when you open it?
My card is great. In NYU, everybody told me is one of the most impressive card they have ever seen. It took me one day to design it and it cost like 20 dollars a hundred units.
And I don´t need to put a mediocre speech on youtube…

I think anyone who would throw his card away is not going to have enough money to hire him anyway. He may be over the top in delivery but what he speaks of is dead on. A card like that DOES demonstrate knowledge of marketing. Guaranteed.

This guy obviously doesn’t understand the purpose of a business card. I get a business card like that, doesn’t fit anywhere – straight in the bin. $4 a card? obviously this guy can’t negotiate a price to save his life (or doesn’t need more than 10 a year). They WONT like you. It’s like sports cards, big car small dick, OTT business card, desperate because can’t get word of mouth.
